David at age seven and Carmelo at age five first started singing and rapping as a duet.Their early experiences were singing at churches, family

Through their mother's coaching and from listening to Boys II Men and other groups L4L developed their tight harmony. Their mother is a former singer and performer. When Carmelo's writing skills surfaced the group began singing its own songs. In 2002 they entered their first talent contest at the Rockville Center in L.I., New York and won first place. Thereafter they won first place in every talent contest they entered. They also began to perform contemporary shows at top churches,, halls and community centers. During this time they made a few records with a local producer Don Amari. After things did not work out they came to the attention of music icons Robert and Jacqueline Poindexter, co-writers and co- producers of the classic hit Thin Line Between Love and Hate and many other platinum and gold records. The Poindexters introduced them to Michael Bivens of the renowned group New Edition. Michael Bivins was impressed enough to sign the grouup to a short-term recording contract. Unfortunately, his busy schedule with the MTV reality show Making the Band kept him from honoring his commitments to L4L. After being released from that contract they signed a recording contract with the Poindexters.

The Poindexter's through their legendary group the Persuaders got L4L an interview and show on WBLS FM Radio.Their radio performance made them so popular their mother had to remove them from public school to home school to avoid interference with their education. Also, the Poindexters got them shows in popular local clubs such as the Amazura Club in Jamaica, Queens for the Poindexters ' John Legend Amy Winehouse Platinum Plaques Presentation, the Occasions Club in Springfield Gardens, Queens for the star-studded Zodiac Fishgrease 20^th Anniversary Party, Marcus Hall in Hollis, Queens, Goldwater Hospital in Staten Island and a performance at the Holiday Inn in Jamaica, Queens..

L4L is now in the process of finishing up their debut album with the Poindexters. They are looking forward to their upcoming debut video with Zodiac Fishgrease. This group is the hottest group to hit the scene and will be around for a long time!!!
